Visiting a church for the first time can seem like a daunting task.
We've got you covered and want to make sure you are fully aware of what to expect on a typical Sunday at Hope Long Island!

What do your services look like?

Our services begin with a time of singing by a live band, 2-3 minutes of welcoming and greeting (feel free to grab coffee and snacks), announcements, time for offering (if you are a first time guest, please do not feel obligated to give), Bible based message, and a time for reflection. All of this is usually completed in 1 hour and 15 minutes.

WHAT if i bring my children?

We currently have Hope Kids program for those who are able to walk till 5th grade. Our children typically worship alongside parents and are then dismissed during the welcome and greeting time. Hope Kids teachers will then lead the children together to the classroom. Finally, children will join their parents at the main service theater at the end of service.

WHAT should i wear?

We welcome you to come as you are. Our visitors are typically found wearing anything from t-shirt and jeans, suit and tie, dress or shorts.

WHAT SHOULD I do during communion?

Communion is a time for us as a community to remember what Christ has done for us on the cross. We do this by receiving bread and wine (grape juice) which reflects Christ's last supper with His disciples before his death and resurrection. If you are a visitor coming to church for the first time, please don't feel obligated to join this.
